Toilet & Drain Clogs
Most plumbing problems can be easily solved with a bit of elbow grease. Before you ask for our help, try to solve the problem on your own.
If your toilet becomes clogged during normal use, a plunger may be a useful tool for clearing your pipe. Flush one time and then push the plunger into the basin. Cover the drain hole completely and pump vigorously. Lift the plunger occasionally to see if the toilet flushes.
As debris is flushed down a household drain, the pipe may clog. You can avoid this problem by installing drain traps to keep the pipe clear.
You may be able to use a plunger on your sink or bathtub, too. Please try this before using chemicals to clean the pipes.
If you lose electrical power in your rental property, call your utility company to learn whether the grid is experiencing outages in your area.
If you overload your circuit, you may also need to reset the breaker. Locate your breaker and make sure it's in an ON position. If not, reset the breaker to restore electrical power.
Water Heater Issues
If you don't have continual access to hot water, you may need to adjust the settings on your water heater. Locate your tank and check the controls. If you make any changes, wait at least 20 minutes before testing to ensure they've taken effect.
Heating or Air Conditioning Outages
If your rental property's HVAC system isn't working properly, check the settings on your home's central thermostat.
